The Rapids bounced back quickly from their loss to Deep Run to end their week with a 3-0 win away at Atlee last night!
Amanda Arnone was able to get the team on the scoreboard with a late first half goal. The team felt comfortable for the majority of the second half in regards to their defensive responsibilities and as Atlee committed more numbers forward, more offensive opportunities began for the Rapids. Kayla Siddiqi was able to bag herself a brace (2 goals) after two wonderful strikes to seal out the game.
Hannah Calliott stepped up in a big way to serve as the third string goalkeeper after starter Abby Rieck went down with injury halfway through the first half. Senior Hannah Keller (goalkeeper) is also out injured with a broken thumb but will be looking to continue with her recovery and to support her teammates from the sideline.
Well done to the Rapids and their next game will be after Spring Break on 4/9 when they travel to Midlothian for what will be the ultimate rematch after last season’s 4-3 overtime win at the Poates Stadium.
The JV team will face Collegiate on Monday, March 25th at Collegiate at 4:30!
