The James River Rapids (6-4) scored 27 fourth quarter points to secure a comeback victory over rival Midlothian Trojans (5-5) in a hard played game by both teams. The win for James River was not secured until the final seconds of the game. With the score 41-33 and Midlothian driving deep in Rapds terrotiory trying to tie the game, Christian Herron recovered a fumble caused by a sack of Midlothian QB Kyle Daniluk by Rapids Defensive End Vernon Couch and returned it 88 yards for a touchdown to give James River a 48-33 lead.
Graham Scholl led the Rapids going 10/23 for 138 yards and 1 TD ,2 Int passing and rushing 23 times for 264 yards and 5 TD’s. Jalen Butler added 24 carries for 132 yards on the ground. The Rapids defense was led by linebacker Bell Mayo who had 11 tackles and 2 tackles for loss.
Midlothian did most of their damage through the air with Kyle Daniluk (14/37 for 276 yards , 2 TD, 2 Int) passing to a balanced group of recievers. Kyle Webb 4 /154 yards 1 TD and Casey Joyce 6/122 yards 1TD were his favorite targets and Mac Whitten had 12 carries for 59 yards on the ground to lead the Trojans ground game.
