Swimming over the Holidays

While you were finishing your last minute holiday shopping, Varsity Swim competed at the Hanover Hawks Holiday Invitational.  A day of prelims and finals swimming was capped off by a rousing sing-a-long of Winter Wonderland by everyone in building.  For the second year running, the team captured the “Best Holiday Dressed” trophy.  Looking at the pictures,

Varsity Swimming beats Matoaca

CCPS DUAL MEET 2 – JRMD V MATO – RESULTS Girls and Boys Varsity Swimming readily won over Matoaca tonight at swimRVA.  Varsity Girls score was 201-77 and Boys score was 151-116.  Quad winners included Caroline Sheble and Grace Sheble.  Triple winners included Morgan Burton and Xander Schreck.  Best time in the 200IM by Jonathan Zimmer (2:04.89). 

JRHS Baseball Winter Workouts

The James River High School Baseball program will be hitting at Foundation Academy Sports 4:30-5:30 every Monday starting December 9th.  ALL are welcome.  This is a great way to showcase your skill-set in front of our coaching staff before the official tryout in February.  Please contact coach Peter Schumacher with any other questions. 3rd Annual Speech and Debate Invitational

 We are so proud of our Speech and Debate team!  They hosted their third annual Invitation (at James River) and it was a huge success!  Thank you to coaches Jessica Sanchez and Shannon Castelo for putting on such a wonderful event! Winter Sports Meeting

James River will host its annual winter sports informational meeting, tonight (November 18th) at 6:30pm in the Auditorium/Theater.  Families, players, and coaches are ALL encouraged to come.  They will hear from Principal Dr. Jennifer Coleman, Director of Students Activities Bryan Hannum, The Counseling Department Laurie Hogan and Nate Mackey, and JRHS’s wonderful trainer Jess Brady

Boys Volleyball Hosts Cosby (STATE Semi-Final)

The Boys Volleyball team will host Cosby High School Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00pm.  This should be a phenomenal game and we will need all the support we can get!  This is a VHSL sponsored event so tickets will be 10.00 dollars. The winner of Tuesday’s game will play in the state FINAL later this

Cross Country Regional and States Update

We are so proud of Luke Lamberson and Lindsey Hester and our Cross Country Teams! The Boys finished fourth and girls were fifth at regionals this two weekends ago.  Only the top three teams advance to states, but both of our teams gave an amazing effort! Boys and Girls Indoor Track Info

Boys and Girls Indoor Track Try Outs Starting Monday Nov. 11th 2019, practice will be everyday from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.  Athletes should meet in the open commons after school. They should be dressed appropriately for the weather with athletic footwear .  We also encourage bringing a water bottle. Anyone interested must have an up to date
