Game Recap

The Rapids had another great result last night against a solid Midlothian team that was amped up on their Senior Night. The Rapids dominated in possession and chances created throughout the game, but struggled to break the deadlock the entire first half and into the second. After a mishap in the back that led to the Trojans goal, the Rapids responded well again for he second time this season after going down to come back and win 2-1 with quick back to back goals.

The team was pushing and pushing for an equalizer and we were getting close to the end of the game. With approximately 10 minutes remaining. A free kick was awarded to the Rapids just outside the penalty area close to the sideline. Kiersten Hening played a clever ball on the ground across the face of the goal and it fell at the feet of Lindsey Manning who managed to direct it into the goal. Game on. Less than 3 minutes later, Kiersten again found herself in an advantageous position going 1v1 at the last defender. She shifted to the right to open up a shooting angle and placed the ball near post into the corner. 2-1!

The Rapids completed the comeback and deserved the win on the Trojans Senior Night!

Speaking of Senior Night, our graduating class of 2017 will be representing themselves at The Swamp for possibly the last time. Please come out and support our 2017 class at 7:00 on Tuesday, May 16th. We will be hosting the Cavaliers from Clover Hill in our first matchup of the season due to an earlier rain cancellation.
