Boys Junior Varsity Football, Boys Varsity Football · JRHS Football Preview 2017: Q&A with Coach Henderson

Q&A with Bobby Henderson

What will be your strengths offensively this year?

Strength of our Offense will be the depth at WR and the OL. The OL has the chance to be something special especially because of our line coach, Paul Williams. We have a lot of able body WR’s to throw the ball to and we can be extremely effective in our spread no-huddle offense. Our success will depend on what we can do upfront with our OL. Those are the most important positions in our Offense and if they play to their potential it will be a record breaking year for James River because of the weapons returning from record setting year last year offensively.

What are your biggest concerns offensively this year?

Biggest concerns will be Depth at RB and how first time starters on the OL will handle their first experience of playing under the Friday Night Lights.

What is your offensive potential?

We have the potential to be very effective and score a lot of points. We would love to average 25-30 points a game while averaging 300 yards of total offense per game. Our guys will be ready to play this year and prove that James River will be here for the long haul in not only the Richmond Area but for the State of Virginia.

What are your defensive strengths?

Our Strength will be running to the football with relentless effort and prowess. We pride ourselves Defensively of being extremely aggressive in our style of play to create a lot of pressure on offenses’ to create turnovers.

What are the areas of concern for you defensively?

Players that are new to their defensive position and scheme and a lot of young players that have not played varsity football.

What are your goals defensively?

To force 3 turnovers a game and put an extreme amount of pressure on opposing teams to do things they are not comfortable with.
