James River Baseball Update and Player Commits: May 5, 2017

JRHS Baseball

The Varsity baseball team is currently sitting at 9-5 with six games left before the tournament.  The Rapids have been led by a phenomenal pitching staff and a steady defense.  The offense has made amazing strides and is starting to click at the right time.

Peyton McCann, Skylar Petry, and Hampton McClellan lead the charge on the mound.  The Rapids have also had great performances from Freshman, Jack Anderson, Junior Andrew Winder, and Senior Esleiky Nunez.  Skylar Petry and Jack Anderson have each thrown a no hitter these season against Midlothian and L.C. Bird respectively.

Bryan Hannum Head coach reports: “I could not be more proud of the way our boys have handled the first 14 games of the season.  There have been some ups and downs just like with any season, but this team is very special.  We are capable of accomplishing a lot as long we stick to plan and pride ourselves on getting better.  All they have to do is Believe.

James River Baseball is also happy to report those that will be playing at the next level next year:

Senior Peyton McCann: Washington and Lee University.

Peyton McCann

Senior: Hampton McClellan: Old Dominion University **He is recent commit just Thursday **May 4th**
